Whiptail Bandana - organic and botanically dyed
This soft organic cotton bandana was botanically dyed here in our workshop. It has four hemmed edges and is block printed with whiptail lizards and cactus blossoms.
Hand-printed and dyed garments are a bit more delicate than machine-made ones, but when washed sparingly in cold water, the ink will hold up for a very long time. The red color of the bandana comes from botanical dyes called madder and cochineal which have high light and washfastness. Hang to dry for the most longevity and to avoid shrinking the cotton. Expect the black ink to soften and a small amount of the pigment to wash out during the first wash.
