One of my first walks with my shop assistant, Winifred

A message from MAUDE

I have a passion for creating tiny pieces of art that are made by hand, are affordable, useful, and and bring a creative twist into the everyday.

My artist statement:

To ease the challenges of life, I take time to honor all things amazing, cute, ugly, bizarre, adventurous, bold, and touching. I’ve had a beautiful block printed postcard on my fridge for decades that describes my artistic mission perfectly:

“Resistance of the heart against business as usual.”

Product FAQ

For the most accurate updates about shop restocks, join my newsletter! I usually send one email per month for updates about the shop.

I restock the shop and run a preorder every 4-6 weeks. It is sad to have to wait but this seems to be the way that allows me to create the most items during those times.

I may not have all sizes and styles you’d like in my shop today, but this is due to chance. I am fully committed to running preorders regularly to be sure folks can get sizes that fit.

I am committed to using blank clothing items with environmental or WRAP certifications in hopes that the items I am selling are created ethically and with minimal impact to the environment.

All fabric items are machine washable, and hold up well over time. However it is worth noting that hand printed items may fade over time if they are worn daily and washed frequently. I recommend washing them similar to your favorite jeans.

shop policies

I ship using the US Postal Service, and am happy to ship to any country the USPS is currently shipping to. I try to keep shipping costs down as much as possible, but note that my shipping fees are also intended to cover the cost of packaging and handling.

If you make an error in your shipping address that results in the package not arriving, I will not be able to replace it for you. PLEASE triple check your address BEFORE placing your order.

If your package doesn’t arrive due to my own error or the post office error, please reach out to me and I will work something out with you.

My products are individually made by hand, so variation should be expected and welcomed. I do not take returns or exchanges unless an item is defective. Please be sure to use all size charts and clothing measurements to ensure you get the perfect thing <3

the process

All of my products are created using a process called block printing, also known as relief printing or linocut printing.

I sketch each design, then transpose them to either a soft rubber block or linoleum tile. Then comes carving!! I have some fancy, very sharp tools I use to carve away the negative space of each image (and also make a giant mess of shavings all over my house)

When the block is ready to go, I saturate the image with ink then press the block to paper to transfer the image. It’s a beautiful magical process with so many opportunities for personal style to emerge.
